our Casey PADOLLO Teaches Creative Writing

At the outset, I must say how delightful Miss Casey is!  It was easy to do whatever she asked us to do as far as assignments.  Matter of fact, we generally had an in-class discussion wherein you could tell that Casey will willing to get off her prepared notes and explain very well what the concept was and how we can approach the subject matter.

I was also stunned by the fact, that as we were writing, she often came to each one of our desks to help make sure we understood the concept she was teaching.  Many times I was off the beam, and I do appreciate the one on one.  She certainly didn't leave us on our own, but, rather, participated in what we were working on.

My dad and mother (really) were very critical of the dreams I had for myself growing up, an actor and creative writer, but Casey opened up my mind.  She gave me the confidence that maybe I did have a story to tell

When my classmates would give me their remarks on my work, it was a bit terrifying. But I survived and was given really good feedback from Casey and my peers. Hats off to my peers for reviewing my work and giving me fresh insights from a younger generation.

She taught us literary devises which I had forgotten.  I also heard her own personal testimony; she was so candid with her personal experiences and gave me the confidence us all to do so.

Bottom -line, I never expected this to be as life-changing as it was.  I have lived an insular life and am of such an age that I didn't think I had anything to share.  But Casey pulled it out of me.

I am so thankful to have taken this first class of college since it's been 45 years since I've been in academia.  It was a freeing and wonderful feeling to be part of an exhilarating class and be under her tutelage.  She is so free and inspired us to write freely without worry for a grade.   I give her 4 thumbs us as a professor of creative writing.

She also exposed us to films and songs that I never would have been exposed to.  In short, I couldn't have asked more from my time in class.

Thank you, Casey!!
